JLIE: STUDENT AUTOMOBILE USE AND PARKING
High school students may be allowed to use automobiles and other street legal vehicles for transportation to and from school. Snowmobiles and ATV’s are not permitted on school property.
All vehicles so used must be properly parked in the designated school parking lot and may not be moved or entered during school hours, prior to dismissal of the student, without the permission of the Principal/designee.
Vehicles may be parked only in painted student parking spaces. While parked on school property, student vehicles may be searched, based on suspicion. Any illegal or unlawful items found in a vehicle are the responsibility of the student driver.
Students who do not observe the school rules regarding use of vehicles or who do not operate them on or near school property in a safe and prudent manner may lose the privilege to bring their vehicles to school.
No vehicle may be used to transport any other student(s) other than the owner (operator) during the school day without permission from the parent/guardian and Principal/designee.
The Kittery School Department accepts no responsibility for damages to vehicles that occur on school grounds.
