JGAC:   ASSIGNMENT OF STUDENTS TO CLASSES

The Kittery School District believes that parent/guardian involvement and participation is critical to the successful education of students.

The District will provide an opportunity for parental input in the decision affecting the assignment to the class or course if the parent believes that their request is more appropriate for the student within the policies of the District.

Any parental request may require a conference with the building administrator and/or the instructional staff.

Every reasonable effort shall be made by the District to assign students to a specific class and/or course consistent with parental requests when practical.

The principal shall make final decisions as to student’s assignment to a class and/or course section.
