GREETINGS from ITALY, FRANCE, SPAIN
Guy Pollino,  chaperone
Kathy Schmigle, chaperone

"I don't even know where to start.  Although we were very sad to leave Italy, we made the 3.5 hour bus ride to Monaco.  Monaco is breathtaking.

After a few hours in Monaco, we trekked a little longer to the Florian Confiserie and Chocolateria. I hope some of the delicious and unique confections will make it back home, but I seriously doubt it.

In the late afternoon, we arrived in Nice, our home for two days. We took a few minutes to freshen up, then Alex showed us around the city as we made our way to the historic part of the city for a wonderful dinner of chicken provencal, risotto, apple tart, and gelato.  If you haven't noticed already, much of day revolves around the food of each culture, but fortunately we walk off much of it touring.

The kids are having an awesome time.  They are enjoying the sights, the shopping, and have been trying to learn some of the basics of the languages.

The kids have found a great little veranda on the top floor of the hotel where they can gather, chat and play cards. They have been so wonderful to travel with, and Ms. Schmigle and I have really enjoyed hearing them giggle all day long, and they have been nothing but respectful and polite.  Nice job, parents!"

"When we pulled into Carcassone, it was hard to believe it was real.  Carcassone is a city within a castle that was built to withstand the advances of empires and crusaders.  The castle was built to be the perfect defense against invasion, as well as the many atrocities that occurred there. The castle was obviously amazing, made even more so by the beautiful weather and setting sun."
