Third Grade artists at Mitchell School studied ANALOGOUS COLORS on the color wheel (colors that live next door to each other).
Students learned they can make each color “their own”, by blending different amounts of these ANALOGOUS COLORS, and never just have to use what comes out of the bottle!
They mastered this concept quickly, and after looking at the art of portrait artist Sandra Silberzweig, created their own portraits in oil pastel and then filled their page with their OWN colors and lots of energy.
